Backpack - Afghanistan

Afghanistan was a (too) short side trip. Only got to see Kabul (and, unfortunately, Jalalabad), but was impressed by three things - destruction, changes taking place, and the people.

Oh yeah, and guns, ISAF personnel, and women more visible than Pakistan.

You see war wreckage in many areas, though not as often as you're led to believe, but apparently it's worse in many other parts of the country.
There are entire suburbs (generally the poorer ones) destroyed by war. The sad things is, whilst locals are friendly and want to let people know how welcome they are, the world has forgotton Afghanistan (and the billions of dollars promised). So it'll probably stay this way for a long, long time.
