The Great Wall is just that. This is at Badaling, where it has been restored and you're highly unlikely to be walking on the (original) wall at all.
Very touristy but good to see how it was - impressive.
This is a part of the Wall at Huanghua, about four hours out of Beijing, far more impressive. Six hour walk with a friend and hardly saw anyone!
(note the original state, how overgrown and steep it is)
So, survived for over 2000 years, eh?...
