No,
I didn't cycle up to Rakaposhi, but I did stop at Minapin and did a hike up
to the Base Camp with John, a Canadian I met in Gilgit - one of the very few
foreigners I met.
Rakaposhi Hike, Minapin,
Pakistan
That's a bloody goat eating
our food
Camping
area was great, company good and views fantastic. Watching and listening to
ice avalanches, counting satellites (12 in one hour) and warding of cows and
goats. They get no salt, so will eat anything.
Well,
this is the reward. Glacier down the bottom, mountains behind and a good walk
ahead. If you do the KKH, don't miss this hike. But watch the bloody cows! They
ate another guy's food, socks and shampoo (spat the plastic bottle out). They
just crave salt.
Well, what can I say...
...there
is no moral to the story, it's just a bunch of stuff that happened...
