Health - SARS
Well, as you know, SARS hit China bad - apparently. It seemed to worry those around us, but really, we were more worried of being quarantined due to being suspected of having SARS than actually getting the disease.
Ten for this, you must be joking...
Didn't worry us really
Keeping the spirits up
Nanjing, China
It was good to see how people kept their spirits up. Signs like this went up, which was encouraging to people. It took on a 'China verses SARS' attitude, which was pretty cool.

For a moment there, we thought it might improve personal habits; washing hands, cleaning utensils, stop spitting. But alas, it's over now and all is back to 'normal'.

Spitting is the national sport of China, therefore trying to get people to stop would be like telling the English to stop football, or Australia to stop Cricket - it's embedded and it's not going to stop.

Benefits of SARS?

Well, catching the bus was pretty cool as you always got a seat and the sardine like atmosphere was missing.

Going to your favourite Korean restaurant meant that you did not wait, you got the table you wanted, service was quick and you paid a lot less.

...there is no moral to the story, it's just a bunch of stuff that happened...
