This is a very common occurance. The most important thing to establish here is to ensure that the crowd knows that the driver is not at fault. Injuries to the rider do not seem important.

So how bad are the accidents in China?

Well, in 2001 the road toll was 100,600 dead. 2002 it reached 105,000 and in 2003 it topped over 110,000. And the figure does not include bicycle and pedestrian accidents.

You may think that that's not bad in a country of 1.3 billion, but when you consider that China has really only just started to take up the automobile, it boggles to think of what it will be in future.

The worse aspect? I ride every day...

...there is no moral to the story, it's just a bunch of stuff that happened...
