Life in China
Everyday Sights

Again, that universal scene. Old friends gathering, watching the world go by, and meeting strange Lao Wai's (foreigners) with cameras.

I saw these guys every Sunday for two months, we had great conversations, but the only phrase I understood was that I was a Lao Wai (they kept telling me this in case I forgot). Their dialect was so strong that even one of my students had trouble, but they were pretty cool to 'shoot the breeze' with.

On the side of a road, anywhere

There are many campaigns to stop corruption at many levels. This is a sign in the country warning of what will happen to you if you steal electricity - seeing all the wiring going into people's houses, I'm sure someone reads these...

Just looks like a cool sign I think.

So cool that you can be riding along a road, glance to the side and see this sort of stuff. In Australia this would be in a Museum getting restored, but in China, this is not uncommon. Sometimes, I think I like it this way actually.
