We Will Remember That Historical Twinkling
by Lisa, Fall, 2001
We will always remember that historical twinkling,
When the chairman of the Olympic Committee
announced that Beijing would host the 2008 Olympics.
All the Chinese Representatives jumped for joy at their victory in the conference hall.
The National Flag in their hand looked especially scarlet.
It also fluttered in every Chinese's heart. We will always remember that historical twinkling,
Colorful fireworks boomed, decked the night out to be a sea of flowers,
Uplifting festival music echoed, filling the air with happiness.
Tian An Men Square was boiling.
Huge crowds of excited people gathered together, celebrating this happy news.
From every smiling face, you can read their heartfelt proud.
From every hug, you can feel their true emotion. At that moment, they are many, they are one.
Every cheer was all for you: New Beijing, New Olympics
We will always remember that historical twinkling,
We sowed seeds of effort,
We harvested fruit of success.
We are willing to put up a stage for sportsmen to show their talents.
It will be a window through which
the world can know more about our great country, a tiger lying in the east.
It will be an opportunity for China to improve the understanding of the world.
It will leave splendid writing in history.
We are looking forward to that day.
Let's meet in 2008, Olympics, in Beijing.
